How can I apply for the courses?

What are the minimum entry requirements?

The minimum entry requirements are:

  • Malaysian citizens below 30 years old.

  • Holds a minimum pass in Sistem Pentaksiran Tingkatan Tiga (PT3).

How do I pay the registration fee?

You can pay the registration fee through various cashless methods, such as telegraphic transfer, ATM transaction, or online banking. For more information, please speak to our academic counselor.

How much do the courses cost?

The fee for the Motor Vehicle Inspection (Roadworthiness) course is RM8,000, inclusive of registration.

What is the admission process?

You will be required to pay a RM500 non-refundable registration fee to enrol into a course.

Is there a registration fee?

The admission process is:

  1. Program registration and confirmation.

  2. Receipt and acceptance of offer letter from Carsome Academy.

  3. Course payment. 

  4. Activation of student status during the official registration day (matrix number, class number, course lecturer and course timetable will be provided).

  5. Completion of student file record (upon submission of supporting documents and enrolment form on registration day).

Can I arrange for a campus visit?

Yes, you are most welcomed! We are open 9am to 6pm on Mondays to Fridays. A campus tour of Carsome Academy, our class facilities and accommodation lasts approximately 30 minutes.

Programs

Are Carsome Academy courses accredited by the Malaysian government?

Upon course completion, Carsome Academy graduates are awarded the Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) Level 3 by the Department of Skills Development (Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran, JPK) under the Ministry of Human Resources.

What is Sistem Latihan Dual Nasional (SLDN)?

Introduced by the Department of Skills Development (Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran, JPK) under the Ministry of Human Resources, Sistem Latihan Dual Nasional (SLDN) is an industry-oriented training program that combines workplace and institutional training. Students will undergo 30% of their theoretical lessons at Carsome Academy, followed by 70% industrial training at a Carsome Inspection Center.

What is the medium of instruction?

Bahasa Malaysia and English are the medium of instruction.

What is the attendance requirement?

It is mandatory for all students to record their attendance. We require students to maintain a minimum of 90% attendance for all classes and training sessions throughout their course of study.

 

Non-compliance to the attendance requirement without valid supporting documents may result in:

  • Verbal warning from the Head of TVET Department.

  • Official warning letter from the Head of TVET Department (after 3 verbal warnings).

  • Termination of training and expulsion from the Academy (after 3 warning letters).

Does Carsome Academy provide e-learning for the theoretical sessions?

Yes, we want all students to have the best possible learning experience through a hybrid method that includes online and offline learning.

What is the job placement process upon graduation?

After the completion of theoretical sessions and practical training, Carsome’s Human Resource team will conduct a job placement assessment for graduates, after which they will be appointed as certified inspectors at Carsome Sdn. Bhd.

What is the difference between SLDN and & Pengiktirafan Pencapaian Terdahulu (PPT)?

The Motor Vehicle Inspection course via SLDN is a 12-month program for school leavers or inexperienced individuals looking to gain skills in motor vehicle inspection. The PPT assessment method is for working individuals with no formal qualification but are able to demonstrate skills outlined in the National Occupational Skills Standards (NOSS). They only need to attend 3 coaching sessions, plus a 1-day practical assessment to receive accreditation.

 

Both Motor Vehicle Inspection course graduates and individuals who pass the PPT assessment will be awarded SKM Level 3 in motor vehicle inspection.

Is accommodation provided?

Yes, accommodation within walking distance to Carsome Academy is provided.

What types of accommodation are provided?

We provide accommodation in shared serviced apartments with 3 rooms and 2 bathrooms.

Are the rooms on a sharing basis?

Is it compulsory to stay in the accommodation provided?

No, it is not compulsory to stay in the accommodation provided.

Financial Aid

Does Carsome Academy offer financial aid for students?

Yes, financial aid is available for those who qualify.

How does financial aid work?

Study loans will be offered by Carsome Capital. For self-paying students, payment installment plans are also available. For more information, please drop an enquiry here and we will get in touch with you.

What is the criteria for financial aid?

Can I convert the study loan to scholarship?

You are not able to convert the study loan to a scholarship.

Does Carsome Academy offer scholarships?
